  • Post A Job/Find An Employee – If you are an employer and are looking for employees, this is a good place to start, by posting the particular position you would like on the&nbspVermont Department of Labor web site.
  • Vermont Job Link  – This is the actual job employment site for the Vermont Department of Labor, and it lists job postings for the entire state, but, more importantly, the tri-county region known as the Northeast Kingdom.
  • The Vermont Association of Business Industry and Rehabilitation/Creative Workforce Solutions - VABIR/CWS screens large pools of individuals to match the skills of the workers to the job requirements needed, saving businesses time in reviewing these qualified applicants themselves.
  • Westaff, Inc. – Westaff is a source for temporary jobs and permanent employment, offering placement in offices, clerical posts, light industrial jobs and all manner of technical positions.

With a high value on education, the Northeast Kingdom has many secondary, post-secondary and adult education providers that can support the development of your employees. All have a strong interest in serving the region to develop the abilities and skills your workers need to make your company or organization the most productive and efficient it can be.

With local offices in both St. Johnsbury and Newport, the Vermont Department of Labor (please see contact information at the end of the guide) is your one-stop location for coordination and possible funding.

  • Lyndon State College’s Center for Professional Studies offers non-degree education such as certificate, diploma and licensure programs to professionals and those working to increase skills, advance to new positions, etc.
  • Community College of Vermont is an accessible, affordable and student-centered college, offering associate degree and certificate programs, as well as a wide selection of day, evening and online courses. It is part of the Vermont State Colleges system.
  • Lyndon Institute is the high school for communities surrounding the Lyndonville area. It offers a number of workforce training classes for students and those living in the area.
  • St. Johnsbury Academy is the high school for communities surrounding the St. Johnsbury area. It offers a number of workforce training classes for students and those living in the area.
  • Northeast Kingdom Learning Services-St. Johnsbury provides educational services to out-of-school youth, adults without a high school credential and workers seeking to improve their educational skills.
  • Northeast Kingdom Learning Services-Newport provides educational services to out-of-school youth, adults without a high school credential and workers seeking to improve their educational skills.
